SUMMARY:IFORS Vienna - Deadline for abstract submissions
DESCRIPTION:The upcoming IFORS Vienna conference ( https://ifors2026.at/home/) will take place from 12 to 17 July 2026. \n  \nThe EURO WG on Behavioural OR is organizing a stream of sessions at the conference. We invite contributions that examine behavioural issues related to the design\, use\, and evaluation of OR approaches in both laboratory and field settings\, and as inputs to the development of models depicting OR-related activity. Central to the growing field of Behavioural OR is a concern with unpacking what people actually do when they engage with OR methods\, processes\, and tools\, and how their behaviour\, cognition\, and emotions affect\, or are affected by\, OR-related activity. \n  \nBOR SESSIONS \n  \nWe would like to invite you to submit an abstract to any of the BOR-sessions listed below: \n  \nSession 1. Behavioural aspects of strategic planning – Martin Kunc – Code: 67599758 \nSession 2. Behavioral OR general papers – Raimo P. Hämäläinen – Code: 2db1a3f2 \nSession 3. Experiments in BOR – Ayşegül Engin\, Lea Trampitsch-Vink – Code: 817ce1df \nSession 4. AI in Behavioral OR – Wieland Müller – cd69b39a \nSession 5. Developing BOR approaches in health settings – Ana Vieira\, Mónica Oliveira – 602e2dcc \nSession 6. BOR in climate change – Oliver Behn – a0bd52b1 \n  \n  \nSUBMITTING AN ABSTRACT \nTo submit your abstract\, please visit: \nhttps://www.euro-online.org/conf/ifors2026/ \n  \nOn this page\, go to the “Abstract in an organized session” and enter the relevant Code (see above) and click on the “Submit invited abstract” button. You will then be taken to an abstract submission form page\, where you can enter all the information about your abstract. \n  \nYour abstract can be based on conceptual or empirical work\, whether complete or ongoing. If you are in doubt regarding which BOR-related  to submit your abstract to\, or have problems with your submission\, please contact the relevant Chair(s). If you know a colleague who might be interested in submitting an abstract please feel free to forward this invitation. \n  \nIf you would like to organize an invited session in the BOR Stream\, please contact us or the relevant Session Chair(s). A session consists of 3-4 talks focused on a particular topic consistent with the theme of a Stream. \n  \nSUBMISSION DEADLINE \n  \n***Please note that the submission deadline for abstracts is MARCH 15\, 2026*** \n  \nWe look forward to seeing you in person at IFORS 2026! \n  \nAlberto Franco\, Raimo Hämäläinen \nCoordinators\, European Working Group on Behavioural OR

SUMMARY:GDN Conference -- Katowice
DESCRIPTION:GDN Conference\, Katowice\, June 28th – July 1st\, 2026 \nThe link is: https://gdnconference.org/gdn2026/ \nBehavioural Issues in Model-driven Group Decision Support \nStream Organiser: L. Alberto Franco \n  \nModel-driven group decision support (GDS) is an approach to facilitating group decision making in which a formal\, transparent model serves as the central mechanism for structuring discussion\, enabling negotiation\, and supporting analysis. In this approach\, the model—rather than technology or social process alone—is the primary vehicle through which participants collectively explore\, understand\, and reach agreement about a problem situation. \n  \nThis stream invites contributions that examine behavioural issues related to the design\, use\, and evaluation of model-driven GDS in both laboratory and field settings. Central to the stream is a focus on understanding what people actually do when they engage with model-drive GDS methods\, procedures\, and tools\, and how their behaviours\, cognitions\, and emotions shape—and are shaped by—the use of such approaches. \n  \nWe particularly welcome empirical studies that report on the application of model-driven GDS with face-to-face or virtual teams working on: \n\nCross-functional and interdisciplinary decision making\nStrategy and policy analysis and evaluation\nInter-organisational collaboration and partnership working\n\n  \nThe stream also seeks contributions that advance theoretical and practical understanding of model-driven GDS approaches. Topics of interest include\, but are not limited to: \n\nProblem structuring methods (e.g. SODA\, SSM\, Strategic Choice)\nFacilitated modelling approaches (e.g. Group Model Building\, Decision Conferencing)\nGames and simulation-gaming approaches for group decision support\nThe role of technology in supporting model-driven GDS\n\n  \nFinally\, we welcome research that examines the development of competences and skills required for effective model-driven GDS\, including facilitation\, modelling and the management of group dynamics. \n  \nAlberto Franco \nalberto.franco@bristol.ac.uk
